The next regular meeting of the WPFW Local Station Board will take place:

This meeting is open to the public. The Community Comment portion of the meeting begins at a "Time Certain" of 7:30 pm, regardless of where we are in the agenda.
 
A Closed Executive Session will follow the Regular LSB Meeting.
 
Please also note that Elections will take place on at the Regular LSB Meeting on August 12, 2015 to fill the current vacant LSB seats and the position of Treasurer. This is separate to the National Elections.

Aug 20, 2015Candidates Sought to fill Vacancies on the Local Station Board 
 
If you are a current listener-member of WPFW and would like to make a commitment of time, talents and energies to help our Local Station Board further the WPFW mission, please consider submitting your name as a candidate to fill one of two vacant listener-member seats on the LSB.
 
The LSB will be electing these replacements at their next regular monthly meeting, which will be held Wednesday September 9, 2015 at the station. The LSB will also be electing a treasurer at this meeting. The treasurer serves as chair of WPFW’s Finance Committee, assists the Board in the process of approving and monitoring the stations annual budget, and represents WPFW on Pacifica’s National Finance Committee. This position is open to non-board members.
 
Please note - these elections are separate from the general LSB elections in which all listener-members will cast votes, which are now underway and are expected to be completed later in 2015.

Dec 12, 2014 - Candidates Sought to fill Vacancies on the Local Station Board 
 
The WPFW Local Station Board will be electing listener members to fill vacant seats on its board on January 14, 2015. The term of these seats will be until the next regular LSB elections, which are expected to take place later in 2015.

Report outs from Closed Session 
 
Posted Nov 14, 2014 - During its regular monthly meeting on November 12, 2014, the WPFW Local Station Board adjourned to closed session to continue its review of a proposed lease for new studio space, which it had begun on November 6th, and to discuss the personnel line item in the proposed FY2015 budget.  After discussion, the LSB voted (9-yes, 2-no, 2-abstention) to approve the proposed FY2015 budget, subject to adjustments to be made by the CFO and Local Finance Chair, with the understanding that the budget can be revisited again at a later time. 
 
The LSB also voted to recommend that the Pacifica National Board approve the proposed lease of space in 1990 K Street, NW. This motion was approved by roll call vote: 11-yes (Lona Alias, Jim Brown, Michael Byfield, Vanessa Dixon-Briggs, Marian Douglas-Ungaro, Jane Gatewood, Tony Norman, Eric Ramey, Peter Tucker, Gloria Turner and Jane Zara); 1-no (Benito Diaz); and 1-abstention (Olayimika Cole).
 
 
Posted Nov 8, 2014 - The WPFW Local Station Board met in closed session on November 6, 2014 to review a proposed lease for new studio space and to discuss the personnel line item in the proposed FY2015 budget. The treasurer was not present to assist with budget questions and this item was not addressed. The board began its review of the lease document and agreed to continue its review in closed session at the regular November 12, 2014 meeting.
