Local Station Board
The next regular meeting of the WPFW Local Station Board will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, 6:30 PM. You are invited to make your voice heard during the Community Comment portion of the meeting which begins at a "Time Certain" of 7:30 pm, regardless of where we are in the agenda.

WPFW, 89.3-FM, is seeking experienced, dynamic and creative persons with nonprofit management and broadcast experience for the positions of General Manager and Program Director.
WPFW Search for Permanent General Manager and Permanent Program Director
WPFW 89.3-FM is a listener-sponsored community radio station, providing a distinctive media voice to the Washington DC metropolitan area and beyond. Among its listeners, WPFW has earned a reputation as a trusted voice in the African American and progressive communities, and as the legitimate repository for Jazz heritage. Through the work of countless volunteers, WPFW has produced unique and powerful programming for a broad array of diverse communities for over 35 years.
We are seeking two experienced, dynamic and creative persons with nonprofit management and broadcast experience for the positions of General Manager and Program Director. We seek candidates with a deep understanding of, and demonstrated commitment to, our unique mission to promote jazz and developing world music, free speech, social change and democracy in our music, public affairs and news programming, matched by integrity and the ability to work collaboratively with our various community stakeholders within a very diverse environment. Successful applicants for both positions will possess the ability and determination to act as servant leaders.

The Program Director is responsible for insuring the overall quality and uniqueness of our station sound, consistent with our Mission Statement; and provides direct supervision to over 100 volunteer programmers and producers. Click [HERE] for detailed Job Description.
Background on Process and Timeline
These management searches are being conducted by the WPFW Local Station Board (LSB), in accordance with the Pacifica Bylaws.
The LSB will present a pool of qualified candidates for the position of General Manager (GM) to the Pacifica Executive Director (ED), from which pool the ED will select the next permanent GM for WPFW. Similarly, the LSB will present a pool of qualified candidates for the position of Program Director (PD) to the permanent GM, from which pool the GM will select the next permanent PD for WPFW.
The target dates for the appointments are:
General Manager - September 15, 2014 (or within two months of resume solicitation close date)
Program Director - October 15, 2014 (or within one month of appointment of GM)
